Christmas Core Values

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays everyone! It’s that time of year again where we start to get excited to be around family and friends, eat fun food, and embrace the holiday spirit of being happy and giving. I know what you're thinking, what’s this guy talking about? This year we can’t do any of that or even think about embracing that holiday spirit with how this year turned out! Yes, that may be true, even myself it’s been very challenging to embrace this time of year like before with not being able to be around family and friends or even do what we would usually do this time of year. This has forced me to take a step back and think about what's important and what I value most and help reset my mind back into the holiday spirit again even if it may be different. Here are some of the core values.

Family First

This one for me is one of my driving forces for what I do. Without their support, the road traveled would be much more difficult and I am thankful for what they have done for me. We need support from family to achieve anything and get through anything that happens to us. No matter how big or small the family, having any kind of help from them through the ups and downs of life, can do wonders and not too mention motivate yourself to help them out through any hardships they may be facing as well.

Health is Nonnegotiable

Keeping my health on track may not necessarily be to see how much I can lift on a barbell or counting macros on a regular basis, keeping track of my health means where my mindset is and remembering my true purpose in life. Right now it’s helping as many people and making an impact as best as I can. Even if my purpose may change from time to time, it’s always a necessity to keep in mind. Physically however, making sure I am strong enough and able to function down the road for my future kids and stay around as long as I possibly can for them to make lasting memories and teach them about life is another thing that goes through my mind and helps keep me going. I know life is unpredictable and we can't control everything that happens, but the things that are in our control, it must be non negotiable to stay on top of.

Be Humble and Thankful

Life can hit us in all different directions whether we anticipate it or not, bad stuff is going to happen. We may not always get what we want and that can be overwhelming and discouraging to say the least. If this year hasn’t proven that to anyone yet, then I don’t know what to tell you. This is when we must be thankful for all that we have because there is always someone out there that may have it worse than you. That’s not downgrading your stress because it’s legitimate, but it’s the truth. Sitting down and writing out a list of things we are grateful for every month from this year, can switch back our mindset into a positive state which in turn can help us stay strong in the toughest times. We may surprise ourselves with how many good things that have come out of this year as well.

What are Your’s?

What’s your core values? What actually defines what drives you and keeps you going everyday? It might look like mine or be a little different. One thing for certain, we must always make time to sit down and reflect on them and make sure these are still what we truly value and can live by. We are always improving and growing each and every day. Before the year is done, have those core values set for the new year, we never know what can happen. Stay safe and stay strong!
